Abstract

The present study focuses on the implement of online learning in special education and how Information and Telecommunications Technology being used to strengthen and support the achievement of learning and the learning goals at special needs junior high school students (SMPLB) Jambi. The research method used in this study is a case study where the researchers observe how the patterns and processes of online education in the learning of SMPLB students, distributing questionnaires on the use of ICT to the teachers, interviews with parents/guardians of the students, and interviews with special junior high school teacher Sri Soedewi Maschun Sofyan, S.H Jambi. The results of the research indicate that the students in special needs schools have difficulty in obtaining technology that suits with their needs in learning. The learning process cannot be carried out as expected because the teachers have difficulty in making technology-based learning materials for the students, especially for students with the deaf and the blind. Reading and writing skills are also very limited, and the student learning is very low because the online method greatly limits opportunities for direct interaction between the students and the teachers. The involvement of parental assistance is also very low because the parents do not understand how to aid with children in online learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine differences in students’ conceptual and critical thinking of XI High School Students that teach using Problem Based Learning-STEM strategy on learning chemical equilibrium. This research use design quasi-experimental factorial 2x2 design with convenience sampling. Instruments used in this research are students’ conceptual and critical thinking tests. The result shows that (1) there are differences students’ conceptual and critical thinking in the group that learned by Problem Based Learning-STEM with the group that learned using Problem Based Learning Strategy, (2) there are differences in students’ conceptual and critical thinking based on initial abilities in the group that learned by Problem Based Learning-STEM with the group that learned using Problem Based Learning strategy, (3) there is no interaction of Problem Based Learning-STEM strategy and Problem Based Learning based on initial abilities to students’ conceptual and critical thinking

Abstract

The complexity of science topics makes it difficult for students to understand all science concepts correctly. Mobile devices can help students to be more focused and efficient in learning. The study aimed to develop the android - based mobile application about the earth layer and include its natural disaster concept. The development model used was the 4D Model. This research produces a product in the form of Earth Panel Cellular Application. The expert validation average score of 3.38, which is in the excellent category, shows that the earth layer application is suitable for usage. The application's effectiveness can be quite effective in enhancing students’ cognitive learning outcomes based on the gained sig. The significance of application is said to be quite effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes with a value of 0.000 less than 0.05

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the views of kindergarten teachers about science learning, the form of activities, the methods used, and the difficulties faced. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected using semi-structured interviews with six kindergarten teachers who were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles & Huberman. The results showed: 1) all teachers were of the view that science learning in childhood was very important to implement, 2) activities in science learning are carried out according to the learning theme, but two out of six teachers add activities spontaneously and follow natural phenomena, 3) the children's most preferred experimental method when doing science activities, and 4) difficulties faced by the teacher regarding tools and materials.

Abstract

Learning in madrasah tends to teach concepts and materials related to that science alone, without paying attention to other sciences. Thus, there is a need for innovation in learning that can link various fields of science, one of which is by applying integration-interconnection-oriented learning. The research aims to develop insights into integrated-interconnected mathematical learning modules with a scientific approach to rational and irrational materials of one variable is valid. The type of research used is research and development (R&D). This research was designed by following the steps of Richey and Klein's development, namely the PPE development model (Planning, Production, and Evaluation). The instrument used is a product validation assessment sheet given to two expert validators. The results showed that the integrated-interconnection-oriented mathematics learning module with a scientific approach that had been developed got an average product validity score of 0.82 with a high category. Thus, it can be concluded that this learning module has met the valid criteria.

Abstract

This research feeds a systematic review research that aims to find learning methods used by teachers in learning Reproductive Health Education and Sexual in students with intellectual disabilities. Eight articles published between 2013 and 2021 were used in the study. The results of the study describe in learning Reproductive and Sexual Health Education can use training methods and role-playing with learning materials are awareness and prevention of sexual crimes, hygiene, and self-care, escape and recovery from sexual crimes experienced. The conclusion that can be drawn based on this study is the methods used in learning Reproductive and Sexual Health Education are training and role-playing, but teachers must learn the curriculum, norms, and rules, as well as plan the learning programs to be carried out.
